Holiday Gift Guide for Tween and Teen Girls

holiday gift guide

These cameras are too cute. They come in several different colors. It is so much fun for girls to be hanging out with their friends taking pictures and automatically having the pictures printed out for display. I listed this in my gift guide for tech lovers also. In that post, I mentioned that there are so many picture frames and other fun ways to display these prints that are available to buy also.

Where was dry shampoo when I was a teenager!? I remember my aunt teaching me how to use baby powder in a similar manner of dry shampoo, but that was always so messy and not worth the hassle. My hair was pretty oily as a teenager, so I had to wash it every morning. I can’t live without dry shampoo these days! I know teen girls would love this gift of dry shampoo, so they can sleep in a little extra some mornings!

This is a great Bluetooth speaker for the price! We got one of these for our oldest daughter last year for Christmas and the sound quality is amazing. It also comes in several colors. It stays charged for a very long time.

Learning how to start caring for our hair is one of the fun parts of growing up. Girls who are going from young girls who have had their mom caring for their hair into older girls who are ready to learn how to style their own hair will love having their own hair dryer.

Who doesn’t love flair pens!? These are great for coloring and writing on just about anything. They come in so many cute colors and are sure to be a hit!

What better gift to pair up with those flair pens but a great planner. I have used Erin Condren planners for the past couple years, and they have been great. Teenage girls are learning how to organize their busy lives and a planner could really help with that!

This would be great to go along with the previously mentioned hair dryer. My daughter is ten and is just starting to slowly gain appreciation for how much smoother her hair looks after using a flat iron. This would be a great gift for those girls beginning to get into doing their own hair.

This is a cute gift to encourage increasing a girl’s level of fitness in a fun way. There are a lot of ways to join step challenges with friends to have fun competitions and stay healthy! Besides, the steps don’t really count these days unless they’re being tracked. Am I right or am I right?

Girls this age love having sleepovers and hanging out with friends. This would be a great gift to give her a cute bag to pack all of her things in for those overnight trips away from home.

Holiday Gift Guide For Her

holiday gift guide

Welcome to day two of my Holiday Gift Guide series!  We all know those special ladies in our life who we would love to pamper!  These gift ideas would be a safe choice for most women.  I don’t know about you, but if I had twenty pairs of slippers and I received another pair of slippers as a gift, I would be thrilled!  I can’t get enough cozy gifts!  Winter is definitely the perfect time to receive gifts that are comfy and cozy since all you really want to do is get cuddled up on the couch with a nice warm cup of coffee in cozy clothes to stay warm on those cold days!

These socks are so soft and warm!  I work from home, so during the colder months I always have a pair of warm socks on.  Winter is also when our skin typically gets the driest.  It’s a great idea to put a great moisturizer on our feet and put a pair of socks on to help the moisturizer sink in and help our skin stay baby soft!

A great robe is always nice to have.  This robe is not only soft and comfy but also super cute!

I grew up with a family tradition where we opened up one gift on Christmas Eve.  This gift was always a pair of new cute pajamas.  My mom always did a great job of picking out pajamas we would love.  She still continues that tradition and gets us a pair of new pajamas each year.  I love continuing this tradition!  One place that always has adorable and affordable pajamas is Old Navy.

I bought a Yeti tumbler about a year ago.  I use it every day to drink my water.  I will fill it up in the morning with a little bit of ice, and it keeps my water ice cold all day long!  This tumbler will also keep your beverage very hot for a long time.  I once made a cup of warm tea in it before a car trip.  It was almost too hot to drink for a couple hours.

Have you ever watched America’s Test Kitchen?  If not, you definitely should!  Whether someone is an expert chef or a beginner, this cookbook would be great!  They do a great job of creating amazing recipes and explaining it in an easy way to follow.

We got an Instant Pot for Christmas last year from my in-laws.  We have used it just about every week since we got it.  Because these are getting so popular, there are so many cookbooks and recipes online for pressure cookers.  It is amazing how quickly you can cook a great meal with this!!  It’s very easy to use!

Although the Yeti tumbler keeps drinks very cold and hot, I prefer to drink my coffee in an actual coffee mug.  I have loved this Yeti mug to keep my coffee hot for a long time!  If I use a normal coffee mug, I usually have to microwave it about four or five times before I finish the cup.  This mug keeps my coffee warm until I finish it.

This is the devotional journal I use daily.  It’s great to write your daily thoughts in while spending time in God’s word.  It gives a Bible verse to read and plenty of space to write your thoughts and things you are grateful for each day.  It comes in different colors, and they are all super cute!

What are some of your suggestions for gifts for those special ladies in our lives?  Check out my video below for further descriptions of each product!

Holiday Gift Guide For Beauty Lovers

holiday gift guide

I just discovered Drunk Elephant products this year, but I absolutely love them!! This would be a great kit for someone who loves Drunk Elephant products already or someone who has never tried them. This offers a great selection of different products to try. These products really have shown visible improvements on my skin!

I’m really not a lipstick girl. For some reason, I love to buy them and then never use them. Instead I like a comfortable lip gloss or lip balm that adds a little color so my lips don’t look dead. These lip treatments offer comfort and just enough color to complete your look.

Another skin care discovery this year has been this vitamin C Serum. I have used it every morning for a few months and my skin is looking great. I got the OleHenriksen advent calendar last Christmas which had several small samples in it. All of the products were great, but my favorites were the vitamin C serum and the walnut scrub. There are a few gift sets available, and all of them would be great choices!

I absolutely love this body cream. I use this all year round, but I especially love it around the holiday season. This scent is so warm and delicious. I love to take a shower at night, put this lotion on and go to bed smelling like cookies all night long.

My lips get so chapped in the colder months. I keep this lip mask on my nightstand and use it each night before bed. It is very moisturizing and prevents my lips from getting dried out.

As I said before, I’m not a big lipstick lover, but these are the exception. I have these in a few colors and love them all. They are very easy to apply, feel comfortable on your lips and last quite a while.

Each night, after using face wash to remove my makeup, I will go over my face with a makeup wipe to make sure all of my makeup was removed. Some foundations are hard to fully remove! I have had the hardest time finding a face wash that will remove 100 percent of my makeup, until I used this. This face wash has been amazing!! It really does remove all of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean and moisturized!

Check out my video listed below for further description and pictures of each product!  What suggestions do you have for beauty gift ideas?

This cleanser is so amazing. My foundation is very long lasting therefore it is really hard to remove completely. This face wash is the first cleanser that I have found that removes all of my makeup! It leaves my skin feeling so moisturized and clean!

I found this and this sweatshirt at Target recently that I’m obsessed with! I will wear these around the house all the time but also during our trip to Disney in January!

I have talked about this before, but I love this moisturizer!! I especially love it in the colder months. It is such a warm and cozy scent that lingers on your skin all day long. It is very moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling so soft.

I got a sample of this product in an advent calendar last year. The sample size lasted at least six months! It is a gritty exfoliant and leaves my skin feeling so smooth.

Essie Couture nail polishes are my favorite! I got this color called Bubbles Only recently, and I find it perfect for the fall and winter months!

I have to say that if I had to choose one eyeshadow palette to keep in my collection, I would choose this one. I like simple eye looks and this palette gives me the perfect every day look while having the potential for a dramatic look as well!

Check out my video below for more products mentioned and further descriptions!! What are some of your favorite products this month?

This month I have discovered some really great products!  Some of these products gave me a bad first impression but have since impressed me!

I had to include my favorite fall Bath & Body Works candle!  Having this candle burning in my house immediately makes me know it is fall and coming up on the best time of the year!

I bought this vitamin C serum based on rave reviews from other people who have tried it.  I had a small sample that I used after Christmas last year and honestly, I wasn’t impressed.  The pump on the small sample would get stuck and it would explode out and go everywhere.  I took a chance and bought the full-size and I have no regrets!!  This has lightened the redness and freckles on my face.  It just overall has improved the look of my skin.  I use this every morning after washing my face and before my moisturizer.

I recently spoke about this Drunk Elephant product in a blog post.  I was having regrets of purchasing it. It’s definitely not cheap!  After using it for about 6 weeks, I have noticed visible improvements in signs of aging on my face!  I go into more detail of what happened with my skin in the video listed below.

This facial oil gave me a great first impression and it hasn’t disappointed me since I started using it!  I apply this after washing my face at night.  It sinks into my skin really well and leaves my skin feeling very moisturized in the morning.

This hand cream from Soap & Glory smells so yummy!  In fact, there’s a warning on the back that this is not a food.  That made me laugh.  I’m planning on buying the tub of body butter in the same fruity scent. It’s such a fresh and clean fruity smell.  It’s a light smell but it stays with you for a long time.  It’s also very moisturizing!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Anastasia brow wiz, but after running out of that, I was at Target and decided to try the much cheaper version from NYX.  I fully expected to be disappointed and end up going to replace my brow wiz.  This eyebrow pencil from NYX is great!!  It is just as good as the Anastasia one for less than half the price!  I have one complaint about it which I list in the video below, but it’s a silly complaint.

My favorite highlighter by far is this one from Becca in moonstone.  I had a sample which lasted almost two years.  It ran out and I noticed the full size product was on sale for half off during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty sale so I snatched it up while I could save money!!  Every time I go to use a different highlighter, I find myself wishing I had just stuck with this one from Becca.  It is such a natural glow and so beautiful.

The last two products are eyeshadow palettes.  This one from Anastasia is so beautiful and blends so well but unfortunately, I have some sort of allergic reaction to a couple shades in this palette.  That doesn’t stop me from using it!  These shadows blend so beautifully!!  I am loving all the color combinations you can get from the Emily Edit the Wants eyeshadow palette from Makeup Revolution.  I also love the huge mirror that it has!!  I couldn’t find this eyeshadow palette on either Ulta’s website or Makeup Revolution’s website.  I heard it is a permanent palette so maybe they are just restocking at this time.

What are some of your favorite products from this month?

Weekend Coffee Chat

I hope you all have had a great week so far!   My dad is coming to visit this weekend so we are all excited to see him!  It’s a perfect weekend for him to come visit as tomorrow is Grandparent’s Day!!  My girls are incredibly blessed with amazing grandparents!

There are so many exciting things around the corner for me.  I am working on learning as much as possible about becoming a Disney travel agent.  Disney World is my favorite place in the whole world!  I love planning every detail of our trips almost as much as I love actually going on vacation.  I can’t wait to start planning Disney trips for other families!  As soon as I’m ready to jump into planning, I will let you know!  I will be starting a new YouTube channel and blog associated with this one but it will be all about Disney.  I’ll have tons of Disney tips and tricks that will help you make the most of your next trip!

Both of my girls have been biting their nails recently, which drives me crazy.  That’s such a nasty habit and no matter how much I tell them how gross that is, they keep doing it!  They both have told me it’s a hard habit to break.  I told them I was going to buy this on Amazon to put on their nails.  My oldest daughter was so grossed out at the thought of having something yucky tasting on her nails, just the warning of applying it was enough to break her habit, but I did apply it to my youngest daughter’s nails.  I applied it about 5 days ago.  I can already see her nails starting to grow back.  So far this stuff has really worked!

I bought this new eyeshadow palette this week.  I used it for the first time this morning and so far I love it!!  Not only do you have a million different options of eye looks, but it is so cheap at just $20!

I had a few people asking me about the bean bags I showed in my home tour.  These bean bags come empty and you can put stuffed animals or dress up clothes or anything soft to fill them for storage and seating.  They are great for mutli-purposing!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Upcoming posts for next week:

Monday- on my YouTube channel- my 1 year WLS anniversary with my weight loss updates

Wednesday- 10 Netflix shows to binge watch (This one was really fun to make!)

Weekend Coffee Chat

What a fun week!!  I started this week out in pretty much the best way ever!  My nephew was born on Monday!!  Is there anything better than a sweet baby smell with sweet baby cuddles!?  Definitely not!  My sister blew me away with her strength during labor!  I was blessed to have the opportunity to be in the delivery room.  My brother-in-law was so supportive and loving to my sister during the whole delivery.  I live a little over two hours from my sister, and I can’t wait to get back to see my new nephew (and of course my two sweet nieces)!  Thanks for letting me share my excitement! 😉

I have a lot of fun things coming up for the blog and my YouTube channel.  It’s about time I get back into this!  We are finally settled into our new home.  I will be sharing a home tour soon!

I also have an upcoming weight loss update.  I celebrated my one year anniversary of my surgery this week.  I have a lot to report!

I bought this palette recently.  I love the colors and as always Anastasia eyeshadows never disappoint.  I must have some weird allergic reaction to specific eyeshadows.  In the past, I had the Tartlette in Bloom palette and my favorite shade irritated my eyelids so much I had to give it away.  Unfortunately, my favorite color from the Anastasia palette is irritating my eyes.  It’s so frustrating!  I’m just planning on avoiding that shade and hoping the rest don’t cause irritation because I love this palette!

Anyone else know fall is around the corner when Bath & Body Works starts putting out their fall scents?  I stocked up on some fall candles this week.  I got several of these candles because it is my favorite of all time, but I may move this new scent into the top favorite spot.  Anyone ever eat one of those caramel apple lollipops?  This candle smells so much like that lollipop tastes!  Creamy rich caramel with a tart apple scent.. Yummmm!

Speaking of fall, I bought this scent of Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products as soon as they hit Target’s shelves a while ago.  I have been waiting to use them until I decorate for fall.  I’m planning on decorating for fall this weekend, so I’m excited to pull these cleaning products out to put in my kitchen!

Part of me wants summer to hang around forever, but I always look forward to fall.  It is definitely my favorite season.  Since I have lost so much weight, I must have lost my insulation because I stay freezing all the time.  I’m dreading the colder weather, but that’s what comfy socks and pullovers are for!  Also, I couldn’t survive without my space heater!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!  Keep an eye out for some upcoming fun blog and YouTube posts this coming Wednesday and Friday!

Weekend Coffee Chat

I’m back!  I have been pretty absent from both my blog and my YouTube channel lately.  A little over a month ago we sold our house and moved right outside of Nashville.  We have been so busy trying to sell our house and then with our move, so I decided to take a break and focus on getting this move all finished up.  We are getting settled into our new house and loving it so far!

Have you ever had something happen in your life where you just knew God was leading you to go in a certain direction?  That’s how this move felt for me.  We were originally waiting to move to Florida with my husband’s job, but it was taking a while.  We were patiently waiting, but then an opportunity came up with the Nashville area instead of Florida.  God just took care of every little thing with our move to make it work out perfectly!

We have already made new friends and the girls have started their new school.  We absolutely love this Nashville area!  I plan on doing a home tour soon to post on the blog and YouTube channel.

Recently I bought some new skincare products that I’m really liking so far! I have been using this Vitamin C serum every morning before my moisturizer.  It smells so fresh and sinks right into my skin.  I got this moisturizer to use in the morning before my makeup.  The watermelon smell is so delicious, but I’m not 100% sold on this being my all time favorite moisturizer.  I really like it, but I probably will not buy it again.  It is a gel moisturizer and feels slightly sticky on my face for a while.  It doesn’t leave my skin feeling quite as moisturized as I would like it to.

I use this mask once a week.  It is supposed to dramatically smooth the texture of your skin, minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles, unclog pores, and boost overall clarity.  Honestly, I expected to be blown away by this mask.  I have used it twice.  The first time, I applied way too thin of a layer and found that I didn’t have many results at all.  The second time, I applied a better amount and still didn’t have the “blow me away” results I was hoping for.  It is very popular and most people love this mask, so I will definitely continue to use it and hope that over time, I will see those results I’m hoping to see.

This marula facial oil is wonderful!  I apply this at night after my eye cream.  It doesn’t just sit on top of my skin like some oils do.  I hate getting into bed at night and feeling like I’m going to wake up with a greasy pillow because my facial oil has gotten all over it.  This oil sinks in just enough and doesn’t leave me feeling like a big grease pit on my face.

I have some exciting things coming up!  I will have a new nephew either Monday or Tuesday of this coming week!!  I cannot wait to see his little face and get to cuddle him!!!  We are planning our next trip to Disney World early 2019.  Disney is absolutely my favorite place on earth!!  I’m even starting to dabble into being a Disney travel agent.  I’m starting the training now.  This will be something I do very part-time, but I look forward to helping others plan their Disney vacations!  I love planning our trips so much, so I thought it would be so much fun to help others!!

I hope you all have an amazing week and thanks for joining me today for these updates!!

Weekend Coffee Chat

weekend coffee chat

Welcome back to my Weekend Coffee Chat!  I hope you all are having a relaxing start to your Saturday.

I previously mentioned these in my Minivan and Car Organization Hacks post, but I wanted to give them a shout out because they saved me when my youngest daughter recently got a stomach virus.  Using these bags kept everything nice and clean and I didn’t have one mess to clean up!  That was the first stomach virus we have had where I wasn’t constantly cleaning up a mess.

Currently, I’m reading this book.  I just started it and haven’t had much time to jump into it, but I’m really enjoying what I have read!

My dad kept our girls last week for two nights!  My husband and I had fun spending time with each other shopping and going out with friends kids free!  I hope all the dads out there had a great Father’s Day!  My husband had to work so we plan on celebrating Father’s Day tomorrow when he will be home.

I am working on finding the perfect makeup that will give me great coverage but allow me to have a ten minute makeup routine in the mornings when I’m in a hurry.  I have been using this powder with this brush and so far, it’s working out really well!

We have a new week ahead of us and I hope you all enjoy it!

Elisabeth Ashlie Haul

I fairly recently discovered the Elisabeth Ashlie website to buy jewelry and other really cute things!  I love how a simple piece of jewelry can dress up your leggings and t-shirt!  Throwing on a pair of earrings can make you appear so much more put together than you actually are.

I have been really impressed with the products from this Elisabeth Ashlie website.  I wanted to share a haul of the products that I have bought.  I have a wish list a mile long of other things I want to order, but I’m restraining myself (for now).

I love to layer these two necklaces together.  They look great layered or separate!

I got my wedding date stamped onto this necklace, but there are so many other possibilities of things to get!  The website shows an example of a necklace that says, “I love tacos” and I just about chose that over my wedding anniversary.  Let’s be honest, tacos are greater than wedding anniversaries, right!?

While gold jewelry is my preference most of the time, there are definitely times where I want to wear silver jewelry.  This necklace is available in three different options, including gold, rose gold and silver.  I chose silver because I got the other necklaces in gold and I wanted to mix it up just a bit.  I got my daughters’ names on this necklace.  I love that you can add hearts.  There is also a small disc where I added our last name initial.

There are so many adorable coffee mugs available to order.  I chose this one to start with, and I definitely plan on ordering more!  I’m not sure if they are dishwasher safe, so I have been handwashing mine.

Last but not least, I ordered this candle.  The candles are available in two different sizes, 6oz. and 16oz.  In order to make sure the candle burned well, I ordered the smaller size.  I was definitely impressed with the burning power of this candle.  The sugared fruits scent is perfect for the spring and summer months.

My favorite candles are warmer scents, so I plan on trying the vanilla bourbon one next.  I will be ordering the larger size from now on!  I love how adorable the packaging is!

Not only were these products very high quality, but the shipping was very quick, and the packaging was very protective to avoid the products from being damaged.  This definitely isn’t a new website and I’m sure there are plenty of you that are well aware what a great place this is to order products from, but for those of you who didn’t know about Elisabeth Ashlie, I wanted to share my haul of these products to spread the word!!

Have you all ordered any products from Elisabeth Ashlie?
